This legendary image is said to have been painted with the blood from the head of a well known Tendai priest after having a great vision. The deity Fudo sits with a leg extended, holding a great sword, with a dragon curled around the weapon’s blade. This like the rope shown in the other hand is considered a sign of significant power.
