This colorful work is painted on silk. It is mounted on a stronger backing fabric from which it hangs. This is a typical manner of hanging paintings in the Orient.  This painting is in a private collection. It was an item in the Sotheby’s auction held in New York in April 1991. The work reminds the viewer of the importance of poetic tradition in Japanese culture.
