Kristin Leahy
Growing up in the city of Philadelphia, Kristin has always been interested in the wealth of history with which she was surrounded. She has been a Civil War reenactor for nine years, during which time she has done both military and civilian impressions for the public up and down the East Coast. In addition, she has given talks about women in American history from 1850 to 1900, for which she has collected several original garments and periodicals. Kristen has had the privilege of working with the Historical Society of Pennsylvania on a guide to be used by future researchers on the society's manuscripts written by women during the Civil War. This opportunity has only increased her knowledge tenfold by giving her the chance to read the actual letters and diaries of women who lived during these turbulent years in American History.
