Studios

The Student Multimedia Design Center studios are specially suited for multimedia project work. The facility offers opportunities for completing many types of projects, such as:

  • Individual video recording in a sound-isolated space with lighting control.
  • Production teams with multiple users at a single multimedia console.
  • Small group work recording and analysis.
  • Audio recording in a dedicated sound studio.
  • Collaborative projects combining the sound and production studios.

You may bring your own video equipment or borrow equipment from the service desk for use in the studios.

Highlights:


Studios 1-4 (capacity:6) each have one dual-boot (Windows and Macintosh) computer with USB 2.0, FireWire 400 and FireWire 800 ports, and double-layer DVD burners. These computers have access to general computing software and a variety of programs for editing audio, video and images, authoring DVDs, and publishing multimedia projects. Studio 5 – Transfer Studio (capacity: 1)
This room is equipped with the technology needed to convert media formats. For example, VHS tapes can be converted to DVDs.

Studio 6 – Sound Studio (capacity: 1)
The Sound Studio is dedicated to optimal audio recording. Vocal recording is supported with built-in equipment. Instrumental recording can be accommodated with additional equipment checked out from the service desk. In addition, the studio allows for mixing of multiple audio sources.

All studios may be reserved for 2-hour blocks up to one week in advance.
