Classrooms

Faculty and teaching staff can reserve one of two classrooms for hands-on class sessions. The classrooms offer Windows and Macintosh multimedia-production computers and a full range of software. Classroom B features a flexible instruction station location, a rack system with DVD player and wireless mics, and a video camera input to the projector. Faculty and teaching staff may request equipment kits, such as cameras, microphones, lighting, and tripods, as part of their reservation to complement the use of either classroom.

When they are not reserved for larger group work, the classrooms are open to individuals on a first-come-first-served basis.

In-class assistance:

Through prior arrangement with Student Multimedia Design Center or Academic Technology Services (ATS) staff, faculty and teaching staff can obtain in-class assistance for presentations on specific multimedia-related topics.

Highlights:

Classroom A contains 28 Windows computers with a fixed layout. All computers have USB 2.0, FireWire 400 ports, and double-layer DVD burners.

Classroom B contains 23 dual-boot (Windows and Macintosh) computers with track lighting. All computers have USB 2.0, FireWire 400 and FireWire 800 ports, double-layer DVD burners, and built-in iSight cameras.

Software not currently available on the computers may be made available for your class session in either of the two classrooms. To view a complete list of available hardware and software, visit Hardware & Software. Note on the reservation form what other software your class needs.
