Technology
Assessments for Teachers
To
meet these goals, a number of people throughout the district have worked
on a multi-faceted approach to help prepare teachers to integrate technology
throughout the curriclum. The first step is to make sure that teachers
are competent users of technology and therefore able to guide students.
Milford School District has agreed to pay $100 to each teacher for each
assessment he or she passes. You can take each assessment as many times
as you'd like, so you can take a chance!
The
following items will help you participate in the program.
- The
Characteristics of Competent Technology
Users define the skills teachers need to be considered competent
users.
- Rubrics
have been developed to guide your own advancement and to be used as
the basis of the assessment. To succeed on any rubric you must achieve
a score of 3 or 4 on every element, not an average score.
- Since
teachers are rewarded for achieving the skills, you are encouraged to
acquire the skills any way you can. We have gathered a few
online resources that will help.
- To
schedule your assessment or just to get some more tips, contact any
of the assessors. You
can also contact Nicole
Durkin, the coordinator of this project.
