Create
a plan to guide staff and students in the uses of technology to
enhance learning in all curricular areas.
PROPOSED
OUTLINE
- Essential
Preconditions
- What
are Cape's commitments to upgrading and maintaining the technology
infrastructure?
- How are
computers being deployed in the schools? (media center, labs,
1 computer to classroom, 4-5 per classroom, etc?)
- Standards
and Guidelines
(develop, adopt or adapt)
- NETS
for Students and NETS for Teachers are nationally accepted
therefore Cape should use these as guidelines
- Cape
has created Technology Guidelines for Computer Literacy (K-8).
These can be used in conjunction with the NETS to align curriculum.
- Plan for
integration with curriculum to ensure progress in both areas
- Stage
1: Cape has already aligned the curriculum in the 4 core
areas to the Delaware standards and performance indicators.
Based on the technology standards above, we will review the
already included technology in the curriculum maps and add
needed new elements. How can the IMS project help this effort?
How will it serve as a tool?
- Stage
2:
From this work, a coordinated technology curriculum map can
be created to insure that through integration and supplementary
instruction students are able to meet or exceed all of the
NETS for Students at the appropriate levels.
- Plan how
teachers get skills and how they will know they have them.
- From
the work above, we will undoubtedly uncover target areas for
professional development. We need to develop a plan to help
teachers acquire and improve skills, develop an appreciation
for curriculum integration and a yardstick against which to
measure themselves. One
such plan is that used currently in Milford School District.
Another is the T-4
Plan.
- Evaluation
and assessment
- Who do
we want to assess? Students, teachers, administrators?
- What
are we assessing? Skills, relation to the curriculum, level
of integration? (LoTi)
- Plan for
ongoing reviews
