Special Olympics: Beta Xi Chapter is a proud sponsor of the Special Olympics of Delaware. Several events take place throughout the year for which student and registered nursing assistance is needed. Contact Carolee Polek to volunteer.
Tutoring Program: Beta Xi Chapter is the exclusive provider of tutoring for the School of Nursing. This service is provided free of charge to University of Delaware Nursing students. Tutors can earn rewards for their participation. Please contact the tutoring program coordinator for more information.
Global Ambassador Program: Beta Xi Chapter is pleased to announce the developing of a new service initiative – the Global Ambassador Program. One member will be selected via a competitive application process and provided support to complete a foreign health aid trip. Holiday Outreach for the Mentally Ill: Beta Xi Chapter partners with Upper Bay Counseling and Support Services to reach out to the community during the holiday season to provide gifts to the chronically mentally ill. Contact Cynthia Diefenbeck if you are interested in volunteering.
Kids into Healthcare Careers: Beta Xi Chapter partners with local schools and community organizations (including the Girl Scouts) to provide information and experiential learning which helps children and adolescents develop a positive image of nursing as a profession. Diverse members desiring to provide positive role modeling and health information are encouraged to contact the chapter for more information.
