Dear Parent or Guardian: The Student Health staff is happy for having the opportunity of providing the primary medical care and health information your son or daughter needs to successfully complete his or her college education. You will see by exploring our pages that we provide many services, including twenty-four hour seven day inpatient and outpatient nursing care during the fall, winter, and spring semesters whenever the residence halls are open (weekday hours during Summer and Spring Break), practitioners and nurse practitioners on-site daily and available by telephone to the nursing staff whenever Student Health is open, a Gynecology Clinic which offers annual exams including Pap smears (thin preps) as well as treatment of many gynecological problems, an Allergy/Immunization Clinic, a Sports Medicine Center which is available to NCAA athletes and to all students by referral from a Student Health practitioner, Nutrition Services, Clinical Lab, X-ray Services (billed to your insurance), and a Dispensary which your son or daughter may elect to use for common pharmaceuticals and orthopedic supplies ordered by a Student Health practitioner. We hope that by being aware of the services offered, you will encourage your son or daughter to use us when needed! The
SHS is staffed by practitioners, nurse practitioners, nurses, technical and
support staff - all well trained, fully licensed professionals. The
practitioner staffs are Board Certified or Board Eligible in specialty areas that
include Adolescent Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Sports
Medicine, Pediatrics and Gynecology. The nurse staff includes nurse
practitioners and ANA certified college health nurses. SHS practitioners
