Academic Organizations:

RISE - The Resources to Insure Successful Engineers (RISE) Program is designed to identify academically talented minority students and to provide a supportive atmosphere to enhance their success in attaining an engineering degree.

FORTUNE - The College of Business and Economics administers special support services for minority student who are majoring in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, or Operations Management. FORTUNE provides students with academic and career-related assistance, and motivational activities to ensure their successful matriculation, graduation, and career placement.

McNair - The purpose of the McNair Program is to prepare and empower low-income, first generation college students and underrepresented students (those of African American, Latino, and Native American descent) for doctoral study so that they complete a baccalaureate degree, enroll in graduate school, and attain a doctoral degree.

ASPIRE - The ASPIRE program supports the recruitment and retention of students of color enrolled in professional education programs at the University of Delaware.

Professional Organizations:

NAACP - The primary focus of the NAACP continues to be the protection and enhancement of the civil rights of African Americans and other minorities.

National Society of Black Engineers - NSBE's mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.

Society of Hispanic Engineers - SHPE aims to promote the advancement of Hispanic engineers and scientists in education and in future employment.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. - Lambda Gamma Chapter - An association that cuts across racial, international, physical, and social barriers to help individuals and communities develop and maintain constructive relationships with others.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - Mu Pi Chapter - Service sorority that promotes academic excellence and provides assistance to persons in need.

Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. - Beta Lambda Chapter - The Development and Perpetuation of Scholarship, Leadership, Citizenship, Fidelity, and Brotherhood among Men.

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. - Nu Xi Chapter - Fashioning achievement as it's purpose, Kappa Alpha Psi unites college men of culture, patriotism and honor in a bond of fraternity.

Zeta Phi Beta, Inc. - Chi Theta Chapter - An organization predicated on the precepts of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood.

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. - Kappa Eta Chapter - Providing Brotherhood, Scholarship and Service to its members and to our communities.

Omega Psi Phi, Inc. - Psi Zeta Chapter - Manhood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift are the cardinal principles of this fraternity.

Lambda Pi Chi - Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. represents a tradition of strong, proud women whose lives and achievements reflect an undying commitment to public service, sisterhood and the preservation of the rich cultural legacies that shape our experiences.

Dark Arts Dance Theatre - Versatile dance group whose members' experience range from beginner to advanced but also practice various forms of dance, which include but are not limited to, ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, African, Caribbean, tap, and latin.

Cultural Programming Advisory Board - The Primary focus of the
Board is to provide quality, culturally enriched programs for African American students.

Hola - Primarily represents students and staff from Latin America, and is committed to cultural programming, community service, and mentoring via cultural celebrations, education activities and student leadership.

Khulumani Theatre Troupe - The purpose of KTT is to accurately and vividly portray the African American experience through drama.

University of Delaware Gospel Choir - The University of Delaware Gospel Choir has traveled up and down the East Coast, enriching the lives of many, spreading the Love and Gospel of Jesus Christ through song.

Each One Reach One Mentoring Program - The Each One Reach One Mentoring Program promotes the pursuit of academic excellence, helps increase graduation rates of African-American undergraduate students, and fosters stronger ties among the undergraduate community at the University of Delaware.

Center for Black Culture - African American students at the University of Delaware find a support system at the Center for Black Culture that helps to enrich their academic experience, support their spiritual growth and heighten their cultural awareness.
