Sakai@UD Guest Management System - Frequently Asked Questions
-
+ 1. What happens if I try to create a guest account for someone who already has one?
-
A message will appear in the notification section pointing you to the next steps. If the account is active, this user already has access to Sakai@UD, so you'll just need to add the user to your Sakai@UD site. If the account is deactivated, you'll get the opportunity to sponsor it yourself.
-
-
+ 2. How can I delete guest accounts?
-
Guest accounts are never deleted. You can deactivate them, which will prevent the users from logging in to Sakai@UD.
-
-
+ 3. Can I give access to someone for more than a year?
-
Yes, all you need to do is to extend the account during the extension period (usually during the month of June every year).
-
-
+ 4. What happens when I deactivate one of my guests?
-
The guest account cannot be used to login to Sakai@UD until a UD faculty or staff person reactivates it.
-
-
+ 5. If I reactivate a guest account, will it still have access to everything it previously had access to?
-
As long as the sites that this user had access to are still there and published, the guest will be restored with all the same permissions and content.
-
-
+ 6. If someone else takes a guest account away from me and reactivates it, will that guest account have access to my site again?
-
Yes, unless you have removed the guest account from your site or made the account inactive. Reactivated guests will not get access to unpublished sites.
-
-
+ 7. Who can sponsor a guest in Sakai@UD?

-
-
+ 8. Can a guest account created with this system get access to other UD systems?
-

-
-
+ 9. If I leave the university, what happens to my guests?
-
Your guest accounts will be automatically deactivated.
-
-
+ 10. Can I edit the name and email address of a guest?

-
-
