Substance Free LivingSubstance Free Housing is a Unique Housing Option (UHO) available for students who are willing to make an affirmative commitment to maintain a living environment free from tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. Squire Hall, on Central Campus has been designated as a Substance Free Recently renovated, Squire is air-conditioned, coed-by-floor, with single and double rooms as well as a few permanent triples. Upperclass students interested in a smoke and alcohol free experience should select this building. Buildings that are 100% freshmen are designated as alcohol-free residence halls according to Delaware State law. The Student Guide to University Policies contains detailed information about policies related to alcohol consumption. All students assigned to these buildings must sign an agreement that they and their guests will maintain a smoke and alcohol free environment. In addition, by submitting this form, they are agreeing to the following statements:
The activities and programs of the buildings will reflect the common interests of the residents. These activities may be planned by either Residence Life staff or interested residents. Priority for assignments to spaces in these buildings will be given to students who have lived on campus the most semesters and to those who currently live in Substance Free Housing.
