Need Help?
Residence Life Staff:
There are many resources on campus to help you with a variety of situations. If you are living in the residence halls, the best place to start is with your Resident Assistant or Hall Director. RAs and HDs have been trained to serve as resources and can often "point you in the right direction." If these individuals are unable to answer your questions, or provide you with the assistance you need, you should speak with your Complex Coordinator. A listing of Complex Coordinators and how they can be contacted can be found on the "Meet the Staff" webpage.
University Resources:
In addition to these advocates, many University Offices currently exist to support your activities as a student at UD. In many cases, the Residence Life Advocates may recommend that it is in your best interest to contact one of these offices directly. They are listed here for your convenience as well:
Residence Life Advocates:
Sometimes, you may believe a situation is more than your RA can handle. Perhaps you would like to speak with an objective advocate who will assist you in deciding what action you need to take by clarifying policies and procedures, presenting options, and helping you to devise strategies to address your concern.
To that end, Residence Life has recruited a number of "advocates." These Residence Life Advocates (RLAs) volunteer their time to assist students and are typically full time faculty and administrative staff members. They are able to assist students by serving as objective, uninvolved, but wise advisors who are skilled at problem solving and at empowering students. Although the Office of Residence Life has recruited these advocates, they represent many areas of expertise and have been trained to be able to provide you with assistance in a multitude of issues related to University life.
To request that an advocate contact you, please email the following confidential address below. Depending on what kind of assistance you need, an advocate will be assigned to you and will be in touch with you in one or two business days.
