Ivet Ziegelbauer
Assistant Director for Staff Selection and Training

Hello!  My name is Ivet Ziegelbauer.  I am here to help you navigate through the selection process and assist you in any way I can.  As the Assistant Director for Staff Selection and Training, I design and implement the overall recruitment, selection, training, and development of our departmental staff (14 professional staff members, 6 salaried staff members, 32 graduate and undergraduate Hall Directors, and 188 undergraduate Resident Assistants). I will be very happy to answer any questions you may have or simply chat with you about potential connections between your vocational passions and the opportunities our department provides.  My departmental roles also include – chairing the student conduct Appellate Board, serving on the Sustainability Taskforce and Residence Life Sustainability Committee, supporting the department as a HR Liaison, and chairing a number of committees including the Professional and Graduate Assistant Search Committees.

I have really enjoyed working in Residence Life since 1997 - first as a RA and an Assistant Hall Director while earning my undergraduate degrees in International Business, Spanish, and Russian Studies at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN; then as a full-time Hall Director while completing my MBA at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND; and finally taking  doctoral classes in education while serving as the Complex Coordinator for Gilbert/Harrington here at UD, which led me to my current position.

UD has been my home over the past seven years, and I cannot imagine working for a more challenging and exciting organization.  I love all aspects of the college environment and I strive to be the best educator I can be.  After growing up in Europe, studying languages, and having lived, worked, explored, or studied in a number of countries, it is no surprise that traveling, global education, civic engagement, and linguistics are among my top interest areas.  While I enjoy exploring big cities, I am a true country girl and in my free time I will take every opportunity to be out in the great outdoors.   I have yet to say “no” to skiing or hiking.  I also find quite a bit of joy in gardening and taking long walks with my dog, Patrick.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at ivetz@udel.edu or (302) 831-2814.  I look forward to meeting you!
