Katie Pifer
Warner, Cannon, Kent, New Castle, Sussex and Squire Halls

Hello Everyone!  My name is Katherine (Katie) Pifer and I am excited to be taking up residence in Central Complex this fall!  I am the Residence Hall Coordinator for South Central Campus, working with the women’s community in Warner Hall, substance-free community in Squire Hall, and upper-division student communities in Kent, Cannon, New Castle, and Sussex Halls.  Sixteen outstanding student leaders will serve as Resident Assistants in the traditional-style residence halls and one Student Engagement Advisor will actively connect with students in South Central to create meaningful opportunities for students to engage with UD and beyond!

I grew up in Northwestern Pennsylvania and jumped the Ohio border to attend the College of Wooster in 2005 where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History.  I continued my education at Kent State University in 2009 where I earned a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration in Student Personnel.  During my time at Kent State University I served as a Residence Director at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA and served as an intern at Brown University in Providence, RI during the summer of 2010.

I wholly believe that a student needs to have an active role in creating his or her own college experience.  Through engaging with other individuals, the campus community, and the global community, young adults can have a truly impactful and purposeful collegiate tenure and UD is committed to offering these opportunities.  I can’t wait for all of the amazing possibilities in South Central Campus this year!  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at kpifer@udel.edu or 302-831-0707!
