The Russell, Lane, and Thompson Complex, housing approximately 900 first-year students, is home to the Freshman Honors Program, which constitutes about 60% of our student population. As Complex Coordinator, I collaborate with two Residence Hall Coordinators and a Student Engagement Advisor in directing a dedicated, dynamic, and energetic staff team of 22 Resident Assistants. Our goal as a staff is to create environments that will provide our students with the proper support and guidance for their overall social and academic development.
While living in Egypt, I obtained my undergraduate degree from the University of Alexandria. I moved to the U.S. in 1998 and have been working in the student affairs field since then. I started as a graduate assistant for the Department of Residence Life at Southern Connecticut State University while working on my MBA. After that I moved to Eastern Connecticut State University where I worked as Hall Director for 2 years. I joined the University of Delaware Residence Life team eight years ago and recently earned my Doctorate degree in Higher Education, Curriculum, and Technology here at UD. My passion is to work with college students and help them to make the best out of their college experience. In my free time I like to go out and meet new people. I also like to play all kind of sports, especially soccer, ping pong and volleyball.
