Karina Martinez
Brown, Sypherd, Sharp and Harter Halls

 

Hi everyone! My name is Karina Martinez and I am the Residence Hall Coordinator for the North Complex, which includes Harter Hall, Sharp Hall, Brown Hall and Sypherd Hall. I am originally from Lima, Peru, and came to the states in the 90s. I have received both my B.A. and M.S.W. in Non-profit Public Management from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.

I  began my passion for higher education and student affairs back in 2005 through a peer mentorship program with low-income, first-generation students. Over time I have worked with a variety of university departments and initiatives to further progress and assist the development of our students. For the past three years I have worked as a Hall Director for First Year Students, a Graduate Assistant for the Dean of Students, Judicial Affairs, Center for American Women and Politics and a part of a competitive political fellowship program while at the same obtaining my M.S.W.

I am truly excited to be at the University of Delaware and cannot wait to meet and engage with all students.
