Hello! My name is Rebecca Krylow and I am the Complex Coordinator for Central Complex. Central consists of 10 buildings – Harter Hall, Sharp Hall, Brown Hall, Sypherd Hall, Kent Hall, New Castle Hall, Cannon Hall, Sussex Hall, Squire Hall (substance-free), and Warner Hall (all-women). A total of approximately 1,000 students call Central “home” and the complex is the primary residence of upper-division Honors students. Together, two Residence Hall Coordinators, 28 Resident Assistants, and I, partner to connect and engage with our students. I am personally committed to serving as an advocate for each of my students and staff members, and empowering everyone with whom I work to maximize their college experience.
Born and raised in Elkton, MD, I entered the University of Delaware with the freshman class of 2002. Initially, I had declared Mass Communication as my major, but after taking an assortment of Interpersonal classes I switched my concentration during my junior year. It was after an enriching and fun freshman year (a direct result of my Resident Assistant), that I was inspired to begin my tenure in Residence Life. During my senior year I served as an undergraduate Hall Director for a single building on East Campus, and I continued to serve as a Hall Director while I earned my Master’s Degree in Communication. In addition to my work in Residence Life, I was also a member of the Women’s Rowing team, a Blue Hen Ambassador, a co-instructor for UNIV 320, a Peer Mentor in the LIFE program, and an Advisor to my Complex Community Council. As a professional staff member I also teach a section of a Public Speaking course offered through the Communication Department. I possess a tremendous amount of pride for the University of Delaware as it has become the catalyst for my personal and professional growth in a variety of ways.
My husband and I live in Warner Hall with our newborn son. We are both proud vegans who are passionate about veganism and the multiple benefits for animals, humans, and the environment. Often you can find us trying our hand at new vegan dishes, spending time outdoors, or just relaxing around the apartment.
