Hi I’m Jimmy Howard and I’m excited about the opportunity to help students navigate their college experience. My passions include counseling, education, and helping students their voice within the University.
I was born in Georgia and traveled the globe as a child with my Army family. We settled on a Military base in Maryland, where I spent most of my childhood. I received a degree in Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in 2005. During my time at UMBC I was active within the campus community. I was a Resident Assistant (RA) for First-year students and had an opportunity to serve the campus as the Resident Student Association president. My experience at UMBC displayed transformative power of Higher Education within and outside of the classroom. I then traveled to Clemson University to complete my graduate studies.
During my two years at Clemson, I served as a First-Year Experience Resident Director and a Resident Director for Upper-Classmen. During each year, I held duel roles respectively, as the First-Year Experience Program Assistant and Co-Advisor of the National Residence Hall Honorary. In May 2007, I received a Masters of Education in Counselor Education with the focus of Student Affairs Administration.
