Hi! My name is Amberdawn Griffith!  I am a Residence Hall Coordinator for the lovely Rodney Complex.  My passions include working with first-year students and helping them find their niche in such an exciting college community.  I also enjoy working with the multicultural student population and helping them get connected to resources that will help them become active leaders and successful during their college years.

I was born and raised in Dover, Delaware (forty-five minutes south of Newark) and graduated from Dover High School.  I embarked on my fabulous journey as a Blue Hen in 2005 as an exercise science major and later changed my major Leadership in my second semester of my first year.  It was during this time I discovered my passion for working with others and nurturing the leadership potential in all.  I found my true niche in the UD community as a Resident Assistant during my junior year, living and leading a suite-style first year community in George Read South.  Upon graduation in 2009 I returned to the Residence Life family as a Graduate Hall Director for East Campus while pursuing my M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration.  During my two years as Graduate Hall Director I served as a co-advisor to the Multicultural Student Organization and a Co-instructor for the Residence Life Course “Contemporary Issues of Resident Assistants.”

I recently graduated with my M.Ed. degree in May 2011 and look forward to continued work with first-year students.  In my many years as a member of the Blue Hen family I have learned so much about others and myself and I am excited to help students do the same.

Outside of my work with college students, one will find that I am very active in my church community as a choir director and music ministry director and I greatly enjoy working with youth.  I love meeting new people, shopping, music, movies, and I even dabble a little in cooking.
