ProgrammingProgramming is an essential part of any Residence Life staff member's job. These optional events allow residents the opportunity to make friends, learn about the community in which they live, and explore a variety of topics relevant to university life and after graduation. The University of Delaware Faculty Senate and the University of Delaware Board of Trustees have approved the program plan being implemented in the residence halls. The plan is a thoughtful and traditional one that includes a combination of community and student development activities which are informed by the expertise of faculty and staff from programs across campus. Residents have the opportunity to have input into the programs implemented in the residence hall. Residents are welcomed and encouraged to speak with the Residence Life staff in the residence halls about programs which are being planned or have already taken place. There is a Program Advisory Committee which convenes each month where students can provide input. Additionally, students have the opportunity to develop their own events in the residence halls through Complex Community Councils and the Student Initiative Fund. Questions any of these opportunities can be directed to the resident’s complex coordinator or to an associate director.
