Rodney

Welcome to the Rodney Complex, part of the West Campus freshman experience! The Office of Residence Life is committed to making sure that each complex at the University of Delaware offers something unique and original to meet the needs of individual students. Rodney is no exception. In our 6 buildings, we house 738 first year students, 21 Resident Assistants, 3 Graduate Hall Directors, and one professional Complex Coordinator.

The Rodney Complex is home to a healthy, vibrant, fun and inclusive community of learners. This is due in large part to the physical configuration of the buildings which create a large courtyard for the students. Each floor has a variety of different style rooms, from singles to double rooms with a lounge at the end of each floor. Students can often be found with their doors open, spending time in the lounges, or studying in the courtyard. Throughout the year, our communities, staff members, and the Complex Community Council implement a variety of individual and group initiatives to ensure an enriching and rewarding experience for every resident.

The Learning Integrated Freshman Experience (LIFE) program has a significant impact on the culture of Rodney. First-year students in a LIFE cluster are assigned to the same residence hall community and are co-enrolled in at least two courses.  The LIFE program provides an integrated holistic undergraduate experience that enhances students' classroom activities by providing them with experiential opportunities to reinforce and further learning (LIFE Students FAQs webpage, ¶ 3).
