Fall 2015 Move-In Guide

We’re excited for you to move into the residence halls and plunge into campus life at the University of Delaware! Whether you have questions about Move-In Day, living in the residence halls or how to get involved with campus life, we hope to guide you through the process.


Partial housing assignments for new students will be posted on My Housing during in June. You will receive an email when assignments are available. Read more information about the housing application and assignment process. >>

Once you receive your complex assignment, visit our Housing Tour for more information on the communities, buildings and links to floor diagrams for each residence hall.


Check-in times have been established for new student move-in day to help ease traffic congestion and encourage the smoother experience by staggering move-in by floor. New students will move in on Saturday, August 29 on the following schedule:

  • Odd floors (1, 3, 5): 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Even floors (0, 2, 4): 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Students will know what time they should move in after receiving their room number.

Returning students will move in:

Sunday, August 30 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Monday, August 31 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Although a local phone service is not provided, students may request to install a land line service by submitting the following information to

Please note: You will be charged a $300 fee for a single-line telephone device, installation and service for fall, winter and spring semesters/sessions.
