Hall Director

We have 32 HD positions with approximately 50% turnover each year due to graduation.
Responsibilities:
Hall Directors interact frequently with students through co-advising student groups, responding to student conflicts or behavioral concerns, and helping with a variety of college adjustment issues. HDs play a critical role in creating vibrant living-learning environments; responsible for 200+ students, supervision of 5-10 RAs, and oversight of building administration. Successful candidates must have a desire to actively engage with students; be capable of implementing program plans to connect students to University resources and develop strong communities; be able to self-reflect; be able to respond effectively to a wide variety of situations; and lead creative, effective teams.
Remuneration:
Minimum stipend of $11,631, furnished apartment (including utilities/local phone/cable), tuition for fall & spring semesters and discounted parking.
Graduate Assistant for
Community Engagement

Responsibilities:
The Graduate Assistant for Community Engagement works with students and staff to create positive residence hall environments and to promote an understanding of rights, responsibilities, and opportunities in the residential community. This includes providing support to RA and HD staff as they communicate community expectations such as Residence Hall Regulations and the Code of Conduct; training and coaching to staff around student conduct issues; as well as developing community engagement initiatives on topics such as environmental sustainability, alcohol and other drugs, decision making, conflict resolution, and campus safety issues. Through interaction, intervention and initiatives, the GA will assist in empowering students to be positive community members, encouraging them to be strong engaged leaders and good neighbors. Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Student Conduct and Departmental Operations and general project direction of the Assistant/Associate Director staff, the GA performs specific tasks that will vary based on current national and campus trends, the needs of UD students and Residence Life, as well as the unique qualifications and interests of the Graduate Assistant.
