  • Separation Anxiety?

    With the switch single stream recycling, campus community members can now place ALL accepted recyclable items—paper, glass, plastic, cardboard—into ANY blue recycling container on campus.

  • Working with DSWA

    The University of Delaware is working closely with the Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA) to raise campus recycling levels on campus and participates in DSWA’s Single Stream Recycling Program. Find out more information about DSWA's single stream recycling

  • Electronics, Batteries and Other equipment

    Through the support of Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA) and UD's Environmental Health and Safety unit, you can recycle electronic equipment, batteries, and other specialized items on campus. Visit The EHS web site  and DSWA for information.

  • Breakdown Cardboard Boxes

    Boxes that are not "broken down" or flattened take up space and increase the cost of recycling as more trips are needed to remove recyclables. Do your part and BREAK DOWN cardboard boxes!

  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

    According to the EPA, between 1960 and 2007 the amount of trash per person almost doubled from 2.7 to 4.6 pounds per day. Recycling is only a part of the solution to reducing the amount of waste going to landfills. Visit the EPA’s website to learn more
