WOMEN'S CLUB ULTIMATE FRISBEE RANKED 19TH IN NATION

Womens Ultimate Frisbee, also known as Delaware “Sideshow” Ultimate competed at the Queen City Tune-Up on Feb 19th and 20th. The team was seeded 19th out of 25 teams at the beginning of the weekend and finished in 6th place.

This past weekend, February 25th and 26th they competed at in a tournament at James Madison University where they finished 3rd defeating: NYU, Towson, Wake Forest and others. They lost in the semi-finals to Penn State in a tight match.

Due to their performance, in the last two weeks they have been recognized nationally in Skyd Magazine as an up and coming team to watch out for. Author Maya Viz had this to say, “Speaking of Delaware, these girls went from 19th to 6th. That’s right – 13 spots. I was fortunate enough to watch them play this weekend. They’ve got some consistent hands and amazing throwers, and have unjustly been ignored the past few years. I’m looking for them to play the spoiler come the series, and will definitely be keeping an eye on any regional matchups they face later this season.”  The women are currently ranked 19th in the Nation in the College Ultimate Power Rankings.

Delaware Sideshow Ultimate is named in remembrance of a former club member and university alumni nicknamed, “Sideshow Bob”.
