October 22nd and 23rd UD Club Field Hockey traveled to the University of Maryland for a weekend tournament. There were 18 teams at the tournament with UD facing Penn State, Johns Hopkins University, UConn, and University of Maryland. The Blue Hens played Penn State University on Saturday morning and won 3-1. Then faced Johns Hopkins University, winning decisively 8-1. They emerged from pool play undefeated advancing in to Sunday's playoffs as one of the top 6 teams. They then faced UConn on Sunday morning and won 4-1. The team then immediately played the University of Maryland. This game was tied 1-1 after regulation time and went straight into the best of 5 strokes. UD lost their first match in the strokes and placed 3rd in the tournament. With a record of 14 wins and 1 loss and the team is looking towards Nationals and taking on the top 16 of 87 teams November 5 and 6 at Virginia Beach.
