CYCLING RANKED TOP 10 EARLY IN THE SEASON
The University of Delaware Cycling Team competed in their second ECCC weekend against Stevens and Colombia and took second place as a team out of the competing 35 teams! The weekend started with a criterium in New York City around Grant's Tomb, apparently Grant is buried there. Andrew Baker and William Hoff in the mens D performed very well for new riders. Baker ended up taking 3rd after learning to sprint in his drops, Congrats Andrew. Shortly after, Andre Rauh, an electrical engineering graduate student, proceeded to put the hurt on the C field, taking 1st, 2nd and 2nd in the three primes on his way to a top 5 finish. One of our new female racers, Brittany DeBord, also did well in womens intro apparently getting the win, we aren't exactly sure what happened with the results but she got the points! The mens B field featured Eran "Hello" Preble and Steven "The Love Doctor" Francisco and the return of the fabled zebra kits. The race unfolded well for the Blue hens, picking up 3rd and 9th with some prime points along the way.
Sunday featured more domination by the Fighting Blue Hens. UD took podium finishes in Mens D,C and two in B catagories. Sunday's course was a winding 6 mile circuit with steep pitches and fast descents. Rebecca Gripp also received the good samaritan award after choosing to stop racing to help out a crashed rider in her womens C field. Overall the UD team took first place in scoring for the Men's Road Race! We also took 2nd as a team for sunday's races, and again Second Place overall for the weekend. Currently after 2 weekends, delaware is sitting pretty in a top 5 spot for our division, and a top 10 spot overall!

Eran Preble, and Steven Francisco getting second and third in the Men's B race.
