This page contains internet assignments and tutorials that correspond to the Professor Tucker's (UNC Charlotte)  text Macroeconomics Today  which is the required text in the Principles of Macroeconomics course.

Study Tips for Economics Courses

This page was developed by the Learning Skills Center at the University of Texas. The page contains a wide variety of tips to assist students taking the introductory economics courses. Tips are included on a variety of  topics  including: tips on taking notes, reading the text, preparing for exams, taking exams, and working with graphs.

Math and Graphing Skills Tutorial for Economics Students

This page was developed by Professor Jerry Evensky.  It contains online tutorials to allow students to develop and enhance their basic math and graphing skills.

Graph Skills For Introductory Economics

 This page was developed by Professor Jerry Evensky's  to assist introductory economics students to assess their general mathematics and graphing skills.  It includes both a online self scoring and paper and pencil test.

The Economics Minute

 "The Economics Minute helps students explore the economics behind the news of the week. Links to newspapers and news channels, classroom discussion questions, and suggested classroom activities enhance current events discussions.  Whether it's in the classroom or around the dinner table, the Economics Minute will enrich discussions about what's happening in the world this week. The lessons presented in the Economics Minute can typically be completed within a class period."

MSNBC

This site contains a wide range of national and international news stories. It has a detailed section devoted to economic and financial news.

Financial Times

This site contains a wide range of news stories from a British perspective.  One feature of this site is that it provides for a archive search from over 3000  business publications.

CNN Financial Web Pages

This site provides current financial  news and current information on factors such as stock market indexes, interest rates, currencies, commodities, and  currencies.  This site also allows you to test alternative  investing strategies  using the stock market simulation available at this site.

USA Today Economy Track

This site contains current data on a wide range of economic variables.  It is a good site to visit to a quick overview of the current state of the economy.

Statistical Abstract of the United States

This site contains the  Web version of  the Statistical Abstract of the United States.  The abstract contains a wide range of economic and non economic  data on the national,  state,  and county levels.

Economic Report of the President:  Data Tables

This page contains the time series data over the period 1959-present for the data series contained in the Economic Report of the President.  These data can be downloaded in a zip file or as spreadsheet files.

The Dismal Scientist

This site contains a wide range of economic data on the national, regional, and industry level. In addition, it contains analysis of current economic events as well as economic forecasts.

CIA World Fact Book

The World Fact Book is published annually by the central Intelligence Agency.  It contains data on a wide range of economic and other variables for most countries in the world.

Delaware State Data Center

The Delaware State Data Center site contains data on a wide range of economic and other variables for the state of Delaware.     The information here is for the state of Delaware that has been collected and compiled by the U.S. Bureau of Census and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Economic Time Series Page

This page, developed by Professor Bos at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, contains extensive data, including time series data,  for a wide range of variables.  The data can be used to generate graphs and can be downloaded as spreadsheet files.
