The Senior Vice Provost for Research and Strategic Initiatives is charged with advocating and advancing research at the University of Delaware. Our objective is to build leading-edge research programs and to develop new strengths to enhance the University's impact on critical challenges and opportunities. The Research Office exists to promote and support quality research; encourage inquiry into new and emerging fields; advocate for research needs; and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures associated with responsible conduct of research and sponsored program management. We also assist with the communication of UD's research capabilities and achievements to both internal and external audiences.
In addition to overseeing Research Office activities, the Senior Vice Provost has responsibility for the following interdisciplinary research centers: Institute of Energy Conversion, Delaware Biotechnology Institute , Center for Critical Zone Research , Disaster Research Center and the University of Delaware Energy Institute.
