Research: The effect of selected electrical stimulation parameters on muscle performance.
Funding for the Ratledge Professorship was provided courtesy of the late Edward L. Ratledge, who received his bachelor of science in agriculture from UD in 1942 and who worked in research and development for the Sun Oil Company.

Jeanne K. Buxbaum Chair of Nursing Sciences
School of Nursing
Research: Elder care within a family context, including elders with dementia, family caregiving and grandparent-grandchild relationships, three and four-generation families and ethnicity/ethnic identity.
This chair honors Dr. Jean Kitenplon Buxbaum, a UD alumna who was a generous friend of the University until her death in 2003. Her husband was the late Dr. Edwin C. Buxbaum, professor emeritus of anthropology.
