Employee Appreciation Day
March 2, 2012
Thank you. Thank you for contributing your time, your talent, your energy and effort to the University of Delaware. Thank you for serving our goals and our constituents so well. Thank you for investing in our ambitions and in each other. Thank you for making UD a great University and a great place to work.
On this Employee Appreciation Day, I ask you to take a few minutes to spread the gratitude. Acknowledge the colleagues who help or inspire you. Tell them what you admire or what you rely
on—their work ethic, their perspective, their expertise, their intensity or calming influence. These are people in your orbit for hours each day, and they deserve to know that you appreciate them and value what they bring to this organization.
Let me start: I’m grateful to you because I know that, on our Path to Prominence, I can count on your daring, your initiative and your leadership. I’m grateful because, every day, you capably, faithfully and passionately carry out the University’s mission. I’ve never seen a group of people so relentlessly good at what they do, or more dedicated to building and nurturing this community of excellence. You are the “living” University of Delaware—our foundation and our future—and I consider it a privilege to work alongside you.
