Stanford on iTunes

Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching

Reported in the Chronicle of Higher Education, "Stanford University is making hundreds of Stanford podcasts available free to anyone through Apple Computer's popular iTunes Music Store. The podcasts include lectures by the university's professors."

Wikipedia defines podcasting as "a portmanteau of Apple's 'iPod' and 'broadcasting'... a method of publishing files to the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed and receive new files automatically by subscription, usually at no cost." Note that podcasts are audio files that do not require the Apple iPod for playback.
