The free, on-campus institute is an excellent professional development opportunity for both new and veteran faculty. This summer, the institute's theme is making connections between technology and teaching and learning.
Thirty participants, who are willing to make a week-long commitment to the program, will be selected based on applications that best meet the criteria of the institute. The selected participants will receive a technology bundle that includes:
* The choice of an Apple MacBook Pro or Gateway Tablet PC;
*
Accessories and software;
* An opportunity to work on a project of their own choosing;
* A cohort of colleagues from the entire campus; and
* Exceptionally good lunches all week long.
The institute will be held June 2-6 in Memorial Hall. Based on the accepted applications, objectives will be set and sessions will be planned to ensure that everyone's needs are addressed. For more information, go to the following sites:

Alan Levine
Vice President and CTO of New Media Consortium, formerly of the Maricopa Center for Learning & Instruction, Alan is also a blogger at cogdogblog.com, and an alumnus of the University of Delaware.
Kimberly Dyar
With a specialization in school library media, Kimberly’s research interests include adolescent literacy, instructional innovation, and digital stories. Kimberly has an M. Ed. in Reading, B. S. in Secondary Education and English, and teaches in the Cecil County Maryland School District.
Faculty Fellows
One of the highlights of past years, Faculty Fellows return to showcase what they've learned during their Institute participation and how they've applied this knowledge since completing the program.
- Technology and topics
The technology bundle specifications are still being formulated. Based on previous configurations, accepted faculty can count on a full-featured laptop (choice of Windows or Mac) with the necessary software and accessories for course work and classroom presentations.
Topics will include an array of emerging and established technologies and applications that have proven to be successful in teaching and learning.
