The Department of Political Science and International Relations invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank beginning September 1, 2009. PhD should be in hand at time of appointment. The Department seeks candidates in American politics whose specializations include some combination of voting behavior, elections, parties, interest groups, and the media. Ability to teach introduction to American politics, research methodology, and voting behavior is essential. Interest in international influences or cross-national comparisons that complement the emphasis of our graduate program will be considered a plus.
Candidates should send relevant application materials, including a letter of interest, statement of teaching interests, curriculum vitae, sample of scholarly work, evidence of graduate courses completed, and three current letters of recommendation to American Politics Search Committee, Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Delaware, Newark, DE 19716-2574. The curriculum vitae and letters of reference shall be shared with departmental faculty. The committee will commence reviewing applications on October 6, 2008.
