European Politics Assistant Professor
The Department is seeking to fill a tenure track position in European politics at the assistant professor level. PhD should be in hand at time of the appointment (September 1, 2010). The Department will consider a wide range of specializations and subregions within European politics. A strong background in the politics of the European Union and its external relations is a plus. At the undergraduate level, the applicant must be qualified to teach introductory comparative politics as well as upper level European politics classes. At the graduate level, the applicant must be qualified to contribute significantly to our doctoral program in Global Governance, including teaching courses on advanced industrial democracies and theories and methods of comparative politics, as well as working closely with graduate students on their dissertations. The European politics faculty member will also be expected to participate in interdisciplinary programs at the University of Delaware such as the European Studies Program.
