Black Politics, Educational Attainment and African-American Males, Development and the African-American Community, and Development in Sub-Saharan Africa
 
  Research Objectives  
The aim of my research is to facilitate the development of policy initiatives that address the social, political, and economic problems facing African-Americans and other resource minority groups in society.
 
  Primary Research Interest  
  • the study of the socioeconomic development of African-American populations rural and urban communities,
  • the factors influencing the educational attainment of African-American males, and
  • development and governance issues in sub-Saharan Africa.
 
  Secondary Research Interest  
  • the study of African-Americans as participants in the United States political system in the post-Civil Rights Era
  • the study of intergenerational mobility among African-American
  • race as it relates to employment and labor force participation
  • poverty and social welfare policy
