Welcome to the PODIUM home page! PODIUM is a multimedia authoring, presentation, publishing, and e-mail environment developed at the University of Delaware.
Effective January 1, 2000, PODIUM no longer is being distributed. Instead, PODIUM's author Dr. Fred T. Hofstetter has rewritten the McGraw-Hill Multimedia Literacy textbook to use PowerPoint instead of PODIUM. The revised third edition will appear in bookstores during the summer of 2000 for use in classes in the fall of 2000.
The reason for this change was the substantial improvement that Microsoft has made in the hyperlinking and Web publishing capabilities of PowerPoint. In addition, we wanted our students to be learning an industry standard tool.
