STUDENT FEEDBACK

This is a big class, and I have no TA's. I do want student feedback. There are three ways in which you can provide feedback.

HARRY'S HOTLINE: "Harry's Hotline" is an award-winning service which many students use. The "hotline" is an answering machine in my office. If you have a question on any aspect of the course and would prefer not to ask it in class or in office hours, you can dial my phone, 831-2986, at any time, day or night. If I'm not there (which is likely if you call in the evening or late at night) you can leave your question on the answering machine. You need not leave your name. I will answer that question at the beginning of the next class period.

MINUTE PAPER BOX: In the front of the room there is a cardboard box. If you have a question or comment about the day's class, or a suggestion, just leave it in the box. Occasionally I will be asking you to write "minute papers" at the end of each class to encourage more feedback.

ELECTRONIC MAIL. Virtually all of you will use computers daily in your jobs. One of the most common uses of computers is using the internet, which in this class means electronic mail. Electronic mail has revolutionized many offices including the University of Delaware and all Fortune 500 companies. You can receive e-mail from any of the computing sites on campus. If you have a computer with a modem, you can use e-mail from anywhere. For most of you this will be your apartment or residence hall room, but you can use e-mail from Cancun, Bermuda, Hawaii, ...

So to provide feedback, send me e-mail. I'm not requiring any e-mail in this course (I used to, ten years ago, when the technology was newer), but go ahead and send me e-mail. Send it to harrys@udel.edu.
