Hour Exam 1 grades - SCEN 102/00/Shipman

Here are the grades for the first hour exam. As you may recall from class, I asked you to supply a 9 digit ID number which was NOT your student ID number (which the University uses your social security number for). The reason for not using your student ID number is that (i) it is illegal according to the Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, (ii) consequently violates University policy, and (iii) in these days of the internet, your social security number can be the key that allows someone else to steal your identity and mess up your credit card account and your credit record. A recent news story indicates that something like half a million people have their identity stolen each year and state legislatures (including the Delaware state legislature) are trying to curb this by imposing stiff penalties. So, after having said too much about that in this web posting, I follow University policy and don't post grades by social security number. If you choose to give me your social security number to post things by, that's your problem, but please tell me so I don't do it again.

Your essay grades are posted. The objective part was worth 104 points and the maximum grade on the essay was 30, so the total was 134.

I'm really pleased with the results of this exam. There are a few of you who earned grades below a C and I would be happy to talk to you about suggestions for improved ways in which you can work on your own to improve your understanding of physical science.
