The CS-AAPT session will be on Tuesday, January 22, 9-11am, in Harborside D

The section's spring meeting will be held in conjunction with the national meeting of the AAPT in Baltimore. There is a special rate for everyone in the local area (including those educators in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey, and Washington, DC) which gives you a half price rate. First timers also get a 50% discount if you happen to not be from one of those areas (I'm sure these 2 won't stack to make it completely free!). The national meeting will run from Jan 19th - Jan 23rd.

There's a special High School Physics Teachers Recognition day. This will be celebrated on Monday the 21st which also happens to be MLK, Jr. day. There'll be many activities for HS teachers including a luncheon and a talk from Dr. Paul Hewitt. Here is a flier for the celebration of our high school physics teachers.

Our section meeting will occur on Tuesday the 22nd, from 9 AM - 11 AM. The room is Harborside D. Please submit all talks directly to Brett Taylor. He will organize them and post the talk schedule on the door to Harborside D on the day of our meeting.

The full information about the National Meeting can be found at http://www.aapt.org/events/wm2008/.

  • A note for the section from John Layman about the meeting in January in Baltimore:
    • "Valerie Evans informed me that we will print a Certificate of Continuing Education - 1 Credit for each of the high school teachers registered for the Monday Program. We will announce where they can retrieve them at the morning session. I suspect that these will be placed in their registration packets."

If you have questions about our organization, meetings or anything else please do not hesitate to contact any of our officers.
