Call for Papers

Spring 2006 Section Meeting
NSF Headquarters
Arlington, VA

March 25-26, 2006 (Saturday & Sunday!)

Note    Please submit your abstracts directly to Rhett Herman (rherman@radford.edu) for this meeting. As usual with this joint meeting, affiliate societies such as ours collect our own titles/abstracts and then forward those on to the Washington Academy of Sciences on March 1.

The CSAAPT's part of this meeting should fit into the Saturday session, given the number of papers/presentations we usually have.

The list of abstracts and direct links to this meeting's talks is on the Abstracts page.

Registration:

This meeting is in conjunction with the Washington Academy of Sciences and their affiliated societies (we're affiliated!). Thus, you need to register directly for the Washington Academy of Sciences Capital Science 2006 meeting. Please follow their On-line Registration link to register for this meeting.

If you register online on or before February 28 the cost is $50. If you register March 1 or after, including walk-in registration at the meeting, then the cost is $75.

General meeting schedule:

Please note that all of our papers should fit within the Saturday sessions from 9am-12noon, and then from 2pm-4pm. Given the number of papers we've had in the past, along with the usual time of 20 minutes or so for each presentation, we should be able to fit within these 5 hours.

When submitting titles/abstracts, please indicate if you have a time preference. We know that some members will be driving in and out of the meeting that day, and will try to ask to WAS to accommodate any requests.

You are encouraged to reach out and contact at least one local physics teacher--or school--in your area that you could invite to this meeting. It often happens that someone might attend if given the little extra incentive of being personally invited, offered encouragement, offered a ride, or some other small boost by our regular attendees. Remember that annual dues are waived for new high school teachers and adjunct professors.

The local contact for the Spring 2006 meeting is
