The 2003 Spring Meeting of the Chesapeake Section of AAPT was held at Towson University on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. In keeping with the traditional format, workshops were held on Friday with a banquet held that night. Saturday was dedicated to oral presentations and demonstrations.

Workshop for the Spring Meeting

Life, the Universe, and Everything - Teaching Topics in Modern Astronomy

Alex Storrs and Norm Dean,
Towson University
This workshop will focus on interactive discussions dealing with teaching strategies and methods for general astronomy. The participants will help to determine specific topics covered, but lessons on the number of stars in the sky, the motion of the earth, and the presentation of life in the universe are suggested topics. Useful demonstrations and application using a planetarium will be incorporated in the workshop.
