The meeting banquet will be held at Barclay Towers Resort Hotel on Friday night, November 3, starting at 7:00pm. Please send reservation requests for the banquet to David Wright no later than Friday, October 27, 2000. The cost will be $22.00 per person. Please indicate your choice of entree from Grilled New York Strip, Grilled Tuna, Chicken Cordon Bleu, or Vegetarian.

Workshops for the Fall Meeting

Two workshops will be available on Friday at 4:30-6:30pm at Barclay Towers Resort Hotel before the banquet. Pre-registration to David Wright is strongly encouraged!

Dazzling Demos

A Physics Demonstration Session is being organized as part of our contributed papers session on Saturday morning. Please communicate directly with David Wright if you would like to do a demonstration as part of this session. Demo(s) should be approximately 5 minutes in duration, with a 10 minute maximum. In your note to David, please indicate the nature of the demonstration and how much time you need (5 or 10 minutes). Also indicate any equipment needs, if there is something that you might need to have provided.

Papers

Lunch will be available at the College (soup, salad, beverage, and sandwich bar) for $7. if you will be partaking of this opportunity to dine collectively with other members, please contact David Wright as he needs to provide an approximate headcount to dining services.

The Saturday session will be held at Tidewater Community College, which is approximately 20 minutes from the hotel. Papers will begin at 8:30am; presentation times will be 20 min. with 5 minutes for questions.

Prizes will be awarded for the best paper representing a significant contribution to the teaching of physics at each of three levels: University and College, Two Year College, and High School.
