A motion was made to add a "best paper by a student" category to the prizes awarded at each meeting, starting with this one. Jedidah Isler was thus included in the prize winners for this meeting. George Watson suggested that at future meetings the prize amount be reduced from $100 to $75 so that four prizes could be funded for the same cost as three have been. This motion as amended was approved by voice vote.
There was some discussion of ways to improve attendance at section meetings by high school teachers. Suggestions included avoiding schedule conflicts with other science teacher organizations and including more information on the workshops in the mailings.
The meeting adjourned at 2:30 PM.
