Registration will take place in Room 206, Physics Building from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20. A registration table will also be available in the entry of the Colonnade Hotel (the location of the banquet) beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening. Registration will resume in Room 206, Physics Building at 8:00 a.m., Saturday. This room will serve as a message center throughout the meeting and can be contacted at 804-924-3101.
The registration fee for the meeting will be $5.00.
Banquet tickets will be $20.00, and firm reservations must be made by Monday, November 16, 1998, so that we can confirm with the catering service the number of people attending. Reservations can be made by contacting Bascom Deaver by email at bsd@virginia.edu, phone at 804-924-6574 or leaving a message with the secretary to whom this number defaults, or by Fax at 804-924-4576.
Lunch will be available at the Observatory Hill Dining Hall (two blocks from the Physics Building) where all-you-want-to-eat service is available for a fixed price of approximately $6.00, which is paid to the cashier as you enter. After obtaining food we will be able to sit together in a separate dining room.
Tours of the Physics Building and some of the research labs will be available on Friday afternoon. Tours of the Rotunda and the Lawn, the historic parts of Thomas Jefferson’s academical village, are available both days for spouses or others accompanying participants who may not be interested in the technical program.
