Welcome to the annual President’s Report on Philanthropy. Each year, thousands of donors choose to give back to the University of Delaware. It is my privilege to recognize the individuals, corporations and foundations that so generously support our mission.

Philanthropy is a telling word. It originates from the Greek word philanthropos, a combination of philos (love) and anthropos (human or humanity). Through their love of humanity, our donors build the pillars that support UD’s accomplishments. Every success story on our campus—from a win on the athletic field, to a discovery in the research lab, to a standing ovation in a performance hall—was made possible by the generosity of our donors. Your continued dedication was evident in fiscal year 2012, as more than 22,000 of you gave a record $61 million to the University.
