Pan-American Network
for Problem-Based Learning

The Pan-American Network for Problem-Based Learning is pleased to call for proposals for our next international conference, looking toward calendar year 2010. The next PAN-PBL conference will follow the recent successful conferences PBL2008 in Colima, México, and PBL2006 in Lima, Perú.

We anticipate that a successful proposal will convey the following:

  1. Strong institutional commitment to PBL and other collaborative approaches for learning.
  2. History of institutional success with hosting international conferences.
  3. Dynamic and enthusiastic local organizing team.
  4. Significant financial backing, demonstrated by upper administration of the institution.
  5. Dedication to a bilingual conference, including a balance of plenary presentations in Spanish and English, accompanied by simultaneous translation.
  6. Sited in an affordable, accessible venue for participants from the Americas.

PAN-PBL, and its international organizing committee, works with host institutions to ensure a successful conference by promotion of the conference, initial organization of program and invited speakers, and sharing of best practices.

We encourage proposals to be submitted by May 15, 2008. We hope to make an endorsement of the venue and timing of the PBL2010 conference by early Fall 2008.

Please submit your proposal as an electronic document to <ghw@udel.edu>. Feel free to contact any member of the international organizing committee with inquiries or additional information.
