Marine Sciences :

students sitting around robot trackThe University of Delaware Office of Educational Technology, the graduate college of Marine and Earth Studies, and the department of Mechanical Engineering invite you to submerge yourself in adventure this summer at the two-week, technology-centered, New Arc Academy. Work in a University anatomy lab to learn how sharks respond to external stimuli. See how shark muscles contract and how you can model this movement with robots. Seine in Lewes, Delaware, and use a lab to examine your results. Plus examine how the proposed off-shore Bluewater Wind project will bring clean, renewable wind-generated electricity to Delaware.

Robotics:

Students will build and control robotic creatures with the latest LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT programmable 'brick' microcomputer.

Scratch:

Under the guidance of our computer lab staff, students will join the dynamic community of young people discovering how to use MIT's Scratch as a catalyst to transform the ways people create, collaborate, and learn.
