Marine Sciences :

The University of Delaware Office of Educational
Technology, the graduate college of Marine and Earth
Studies, and the department of Mechanical
Engineering invite you to submerge yourself in
adventure this summer at the two-week,
technology-centered, New Arc Academy. Work in a
University anatomy lab to learn how sharks respond
to external stimuli. See how shark muscles contract
and how you can model this movement with robots.
Seine in Lewes, Delaware, and use a lab to examine
your results. Plus examine how the proposed
off-shore Bluewater Wind project will bring clean,
renewable wind-generated electricity to Delaware.
Robotics:
Students will build and control robotic creatures with
the latest LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT
programmable 'brick' microcomputer.
Scratch:
Under the guidance of our computer lab staff,
students will join the dynamic community of young
people discovering how to use MIT's Scratch as a
catalyst to transform the ways people create,
collaborate, and learn.
