Campus Diversity

Diversity at UD is more than just a buzzword – it is a guiding principle in our Path to Prominence. Diversity is central to our mission statement, "The University strives for an atmosphere in which all people feel welcome to learn, embracing creativity critical thinking, and free inquiry, and respecting the views and values of an increasingly diverse population."

Diversity at the University of Delaware is more than what you can see – we use a broad definition of diversity that includes things such as gender identity and expression, race/ethnicity, religion, national and global perspectives, sexual orientation, disability, and other experiences and perspectives that can make our campus as especially vital learning environment. We echo President Harker's sentiment that "Diversity must be an integral and vital part of everyday life at the University of Delaware.
