EDUC259
Diversity in Community Context

This page is designed help students with the field placement requirement for this course. The page is divided into three main sections. Make sure to carefully review each to ensure you receive your placement information as quickly as possible.

NOTE: Students currently enrolled in EDUC259 and EDUC205 may combine field placements. Students may satisfy EDUC205 requirements in the EDUC259 field placements. All such arrangements must be approved the course instructor(s) and the Office of Clinical Studies.

1. Field Placement Checklist

This is a list of everything you need to do to make sure you are placed quickly. To ensure that you receive placement information as soon as possible you must provide accurate schedule and transportation information by the first week of classes. If your schedule or transportation information changes during the semester you must update the online information.

NOTE: Transportation will be provided. Students are not encouraged to drive to sites.
Before the semester begins you MUST:

Show proof that you are cleared for TB
        - You cannot be placed until this is done

Review and be familiar with the Dispositions Policy
  During the semester, remember to:
Wear a valid ID Badge at all times during a visit

This will be explained further in class.

Print out a log sheet. Make sure to have it signed when you visit.

Print as either a Word, or a pdf file

Before the semester ends:
Complete the Log Sheet and turn into Class Instructor
Complete your online Field Placement Record

This record will be required when you apply for student teaching.
